Some Links for Education Issues

Here is a list of some resources you might use to inform yourselves about education issues.
  1. The Education Trust does good research and policy analysis.
  2. A similar organization with good research and analysis is the Center for Public Education.
  3. Richard Colvin at the (conservative) Hoover Institute has an interesting analysis of education positions popular within the Democratic Party.
  4. A very good conservative blog on education issues can be found at the Pioneer Institute.
  5. A more neutral, middle-of-the-road technocratic blog about education exists at Education Week.
  6. Education Week also offers some good links to articles about state issues on education.
  7. Of course, a primary source of information about education is the U.S. Department of Education.
  8. Your two major teachers' unions are the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association.
  9. Education spending is being cut. This report from Center on Budget and Policy Priorities explains how states are cutting education funding.
